CMJ Playlist: The Neighbourhood

Tonight All Things Go is teaming up with the Hype Machine for Hype Machine Handpicked at the Brooklyn Bowl. Along with the triumphant live return of the Virgins, the night will also feature a set from LA w√ľnderkinds The Neighbourhood. To get you all psyched for the show, the California five-piece created a playlist for us with their favorite songs of late. Check it out below.

STREAM: Grandaddy – “Hewlett’s Daughter”

Generally, I think the perfect recipe for a great song is keeping it simple and catchy. They balance the two perfectly without one out-weighing the other. – Jeremy

STREAM: Beach House – “Walk In The Park”

This song has some great drum sounds, a solid verse melody, and a huge chorus. The vibe it puts out gets me in a great mood. – Bryan

STREAM: Frank Ocean – “Pink Matter”

This song has all the components of a song that I enjoy listening to; it has a rad vibe with a great melody throughout the entire song. I can listen to it at any time of the day and still have the same feel, which I love in a song! And having Andre 3000 on the song is the cherry on top. – Mikey

STREAM: Big Sean, Jay-Z & Kanye West – “Clique”

I like how the intro melody never comes back later in the song and how it is so different from the rest of the song. It makes for good contrast. The song builds perfectly through each MC’s verse. Big Sean gets you excited for Jay, and Jay gets you pumped for Kanye. This track definitely puts me in a mood as well. I just think it’s cool. – Jesse

STREAM: Failure – “Space Song”

I like it for the production and the overall vibe of the song it takes you to that dark cool place you want to go too. – Zach
