A Weekend At The Feelies
Time & Heat

Label: Unsigned   Genre: Pop, Rock   Sounds Like: Goodbye Chanel

a weekend at the feelies

Jordan Campbell (a.k.a. A Weekend At The Feelies) released a new single called “Time & Heat” yesterday. The name of the song is apt and its release timely, as summer kicks up the temperature in its final throes.

“Time & Heat” is beachy, laid-back and delirious. Don’t be fooled by the gentle, cool-breeze of the wah-wahing guitar; the opening lyrics of the song are “Summertime is here and all your friends are dead.” Dead? What? It pokes some fun at sunburnt beach-hoppers – “You’ll peel your skin just like a snake til no one recognizes you” – but only after proclaiming that “time and heat won’t change me.”

The sarcasm here is directed at wasted summers. It’s a declaration of immunity against the three-month stupor whose side effects may include laziness and passivity. Instead of giving in, seize summer and soak in all its glory because, in the end, it won’t really change you. Give the track a listen below.
