Angel Olsen wistfully covers Connie Francis’ “Who’s Sorry Now?”

As part of an ad campaign for their alt-history series The Man in the High Castle (in which the Axis Powers have conquered the United States) Amazon Studios is streaming Resistance Radio, a real-world version of the bootleg channel broadcast in the show. The result so far has been great rather than gimmicky – likely because Danger Mouse is co-producing. Sharon Van Etten wistfully covered Skeeter Davis’ “The End of the World,” and now Angel Olsen joins the resistance on “Who’s Sorry Now?”, a song made famous by Connie Francis in the ‘50s. It’s a fine rendition, warping the nostalgic shuffle just enough to suggest the sinister context of its alternate universe. Listen below.
