Ariana Grande dropped a brand new single “Imagine” late Thursday night. The track is a follow-up to the internet-breaking “thank u, next” (and its equally headline-making video) and will appear on the popstar’s next album which is slated to come out early 2019.
On Twitter, Grande described “Imagine” as “a simple, beautiful love that is now (and forever) unattainable.” Many fans speculate that this track may be in reference to her late ex-boyfriend Mac Miller given that he had a tattoo that read “Imagine” on his arm.

There has been plenty of speculation surrounding what the singer’s point of view on her failed relationships will be on this next album. Ariana did give fans a small explanation of what to expect from “Imagine,” sharing in a drafted tweet screenshot that “‘thank, u next’ = acceptance… ‘imagine’ = denial.”
Fans will have to wait a few more weeks until the full length album is released, but until then, listen to “Imagine” below.
