ATG Weekender | 3.17.11

Finding a socially acceptable reason to start drinking before noon can be difficult…unless it’s St. Partick’s Day. This year we’ll be crushin’ brews at one of our favorite drinking establishments The Blaguard, where they’ll be serving up a variety of generously priced specials throughout the day. If you survive the daytime-rage, then be sure to check out either the River James at The Black Cat or UHall‘s 1 Year Anniversay.

Friday’s forecast is 74 and sunny — it’s officially bocce season. So break out your favorite lawn game and head to the park for an awkwardly-competitive group outing. As the evening rolls around you’ve got two choices, either drink aggressively at the Biergarten Haus on H Street or get your dance on at The Black Cat for a night of vintage hip-hop .

If you haven’t visited The Black Squirrel’s basement bar, I suggest you do so immediately. Not only is it a haven among the douche-tastic bars that populate 18th street these days, but it serves over 30 beers on tap. Once you’ve filled up on 9.5% IPAs, take a stroll to U Street for a whole mess of fun — we choose The Sumble at Dodge City and Bliss at UHall.
