Bleachers’ take their soundtrack place with “Alfie’s Song (Not So Typical Love Song)”

Bleachers

Bleachers frontman Jack Antonoff is following up on their recent album with a solo jam titled “Alfie’s Song (Not So Typical Love Song”. Aptly named for lines like ’cause it hurt us again and again’, channeling the pain of veiled forbidden love, which makes charming sense given its place on the Love, Simon soundtrack. The film follows the life of a closeted teenager as he pursues an unknown classmate he meets online, furthering our understanding of the modern day fairytale. It’s an ambiguously affectionate track for some, but for others an anthem for painful attraction at a distance while flashbacks of perfect afternoons flow like a lazy nostalgic river.

“Alfie’s Song” follows Bleachers’ 2017 Gone Now and will help lead the way to this coming of age film, out March 16th. Stay tuned.
