Bronx – I’ll Be Loving You

Last week saw the release of one of my favorite nu-disco tracks of the summer, Bronx’s “I’ll Be Loving You”. Bronx is the nom de techno of Francisco Davalos, a 19-year-old Mexican producer and self-described champion of “sexy tropical disco music.” “I’ll Be Loving You” is a rework of the unfortunately titled “I’ll be Lovin’ U Long Time” off Mariah Carey’s 2008 album, E=MC2. The original Mariah song, in turn, sampled parts of Debarge’s late Motown-era classic, “Stay With Me.” So in short, multiple decades of pop goodness are condensed into one gorgeous piece of nu-disco here. Supertalented Finnish duo Jay Lamar & Jesse Oliver, whose own Diamonda EP is very much worth a listen, handled mastering duties on this track. Bronx’s I’ll Be Loving You EP is out now on Nurvous.
