Dave Depper of Death Cab For Cutie recently announced his debut solo album, Emotional Freedom Technique (out July 9th). With the announcement, he has released the record’s first single, “Do You Want Love?”. The track’s ethereal synths, steady bass and echoing vocals definitely transport you to that neon infused computer grid world that only exists in an 80s video game.

Depper’s label Tender Loving Empire, had this to say about the album — “Grappling with loneliness, the longing for human connection and the fear thereof, Depper strings ornate synth melodies together into simple hooks that speak to the most relatable reasons we listen to pop music – to remember we aren’t alone, and to still have a good time with it.”

To celebrate the release of the record, Depper will play two premier shows: Wednesday, June 21st at Barboza in Seattle and Thursday June 22nd at Mississippi Studios in Portland.
