I was just reminiscing on the glory days of twee-pop and its cavity-causing sweetness. Everyone Is Dirty‘s latest video for “Silver & White” channels that old feeling with a multi-generational accent. The Oakland outfit are blending a bit of northeast alternative tone with classic plucking solos. The video itself is a fantastic journey of a young adventurer through a magical world, giving PowerPoint the best purpose in its history. Watch below.
On the new video, Sivan Lioncub writes: “‘Silver & White’ was the first song Chris Daddio & I wrote together. We met working on a short film I was making in film school. I was living in NY & he was living in SF. We sent the song back & forth, hoping that our promise to make music together would work out even though we lived on opposite coasts. It’s a song about finding your best friend in a strange & lonely world where chance is god. We recorded the song with Tyler English on bass & Tony Sales on drums at Donut Time Audio in Oakland.
The video for ‘Silver & White’ was made by our good friend Steve & his colleagues at Deckhand Studio SF while I was in the hospital because my liver failed from a penicillin allergy. They made it entirely on PowerPoint which is pretty mind-blowing.”
