Back in mid-July, Fake Guns gave us their debut single, “Blue,” an alt-rock anthem to needing escape from one’s own mind and its perils. Now the indie rockers return with another color, “Yellow.” The same upbeat pacing remains – perhaps even revved up a bit – but we get it with a darker, more dissonant twist. A distorted bass grooves along under the lead singer’s disoriented schizophrenia during the verse, only to explode into a wall of sound as the guitars and synths chime in for the chorus. Airy, arpeggiated guitars float over Radiohead-esque drums in the bridge only to return to the combustion of the chorus a final time. Whatever color comes next, we can’t wait. Check it out below.
