Fall Classic Playlist: Sun Club

sun club baltimore

Baltimore’s getting plenty of love at the All Things Go Fall Classic. Along with Charm City headliners Future Islands, the city’s own Sun Club will be playing the inaugural DC festival. We asked these five dudes to whip up a playlist with some of their favorite songs as of late. With a track listing that includes everything from Trey Songz and Tom Waits to Thee Oh Sees and Braids, it’s safe to say that Sun Club are our new favorite people. Check out the playlist along with some words on why they picked each song below.

Sun Club will be playing the All Things Go Fall Classic at Union Market in Washington, DC on Saturday, September 13th. Advance tickets for the event are on sale now via the link below. Get yours now and save money off the door price.

1. Plastic Bertrand – “Ça Plane Pour Moi”
Summer jam, what up. We almost covered it at one show and then the show got cancelled, luckily. This song pumps me up. — Shane

2. Trey Songz – “Dive In”
Whenever I’m alive and feeling cool, I’ll listen to this song to love the bass.

3. Tom Waits – “Goin’ Out West”
It’s his theme song. — Kory

4. Dr. John – “Gris-Gris Gumbo Ya Ya”
He’s my spirit animal. — Kory

5. R. Kelly – “Ignition (Remix)”
Because sometimes I have a key and forget where I put it. — Adam

6. Frou Frou – “Let Go”
Ever since I saw Garden State it has been one of my favorite songs because. It reminds me of the first time I saw it. — Adam

7. The Cure – “Just Like Heaven”
It’s so cheesy in a way that makes me feel nostalgic. It’s like summer when you’re 8. — Mikey

8. Thee Oh Sees – “I Need Seed”
It’s fun and goofy and there’s something about it that is just slightly off. But that makes it feel even more childish. — “Mikey”

9. Braids – “Plath Heart”
The bridge makes me wanna bounce up and down and the vocals are amazing. — Devin

10. Beach House – “On The Sea”
The song never really changes in tempo or gets louder or softer, but it kinda just goes very steady the whole time and reminds me of being on the water and summer time goodness. Also they are from Baltimore! — Devin
