Freedom Fry redefines a classic indie folk tune with “Girl On Fire”

Freedom Fry

Leave it to a Parisian/American duo to call themselves Freedom Fry while treading in the musical territory of an old dummy who once tried to stick it to France. With country twang and folk expertise, the LA-based outfit is sharing an ode to a modern classic with “Girl On Fire”. Those dedicated fans of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros will recognize this as a tasteful and feminine twist of “Man On Fire” and like most of us, appreciate a good cover. We’re in a new age of blending genres, mind you, so this new track also shares indie roots, from which a sturdy tree of tradition grows. It may have that feel of Americana but certainly gets some hips moving along to tapping feet.

Their debut album, Classic, is coming soon. You know the drill –stay tuned and listen below.
