There’s something about Gurr’s “Moby Dick” that makes you feel like something is about to begin. It’s the type of sound you’d hear over the starting credits of a film, or blast with the windows down to kick off a solo road trip. Maybe it’s the slight restlessness in the female Berlin duo’s feathery vocals, or it might be the track’s pulsating guitar strings and steadily kicking drum.
Whatever it is, “Moby Dick” is a refreshing song that sounds like a new start. It’s fitting, then, that the track is part of the group’s forthcoming project In My Head, which drops this fall via Duchess Box Records.
