Introducing: Long Courrier

Parisian duo Long Courrier make artfully arranged, soulful electronica lying somewhere near the intersection of Scandinavian dreampop (jj, Postiljonen) and French touch nu-disco (Valerie Collective). Like both those genres, Long Courrier’s sound is streaked with raw nostalgia, sepia-toned harmonies and retrofuturistic production. Luc Dagognet and Alex Berch describe their music as “ethereal prog prop,” and it’s about as lovely as that description might lead you to expect. We don’t know much about the band, and judging from their cryptic Facebook page – which dubiously sites Family Guy creator Seth McFarlane and scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard as creative influences – this air of mystery is likely something they enjoy cultivating. They only have a handful of tracks in circulation at this point; you can watch a new video for standout “Comforters” above and stream a choice Wize remix of “Arcane Man” below.
