Kid Cudi – King Wizard

Welcome back, Cudder. Between the Cruel Summer standout “Creepers,” the previously released “Just What I Am”, and the new “King Wizard”, it’s apparent that Kid Cudi is back with a vengeance, and he knows it. The track’s release was accompanied by a tweet from Scott Mescudi proclaiming, “mark my words, INDICUD will be the greatest album ever made. Know that I’m not lying.” An empowering hook and one of the best first verses he’s delivered since “Heart of a Lion” have me inclined to not temper any lofty expectations I might have for this album, despite the bad taste in my mouth that WZRD left earlier this year. And with a rumored guest list of Kanye, Pusha T, and Kendrick Lamar mixed with possible production by Ratatat, Diplo, and MGMT, Cudi has me antsy for this double-disc album due out before the new year.
