How You Forget
As the age old story goes, every great band started off playing covers to small crowds. That’s not enough for everyone, however. Today we’re sharing “How You Forget”, an indie pop hit from M1LDL1FE. Extending that sentiment to the indie pop palette of the US since their 2015 debut PAIRS, the band are breaking the international mold from their home in Singapore. Atop smooth, textured production with fuzzy keys setting the mood are the words of a regretfully forgetful broken heart. This is cut from their forthcoming EP, out this month. We’re keeping an eye on these guys, so follow suit and listen below.
On the new single, frontman Paddy Ong says, A song about how we treat memories of the people we love, this slow-burning number’s instrumentation reflects its pensive lyrical themes. “The idea for the song came about when I found myself not being able to remember some my moments with an ex-lover. It was as if those moments never existed. And I found it strange that for someone with whom at the time you felt so connected to, someone you allowed inside your walls, memories with them you would think be permanent, yet you cannot seem to remember most of it.”
