Made In Heights – Murakami

Made In Heights‘ latest track “Murakami,” released in the limbo between Best Of lists and the final stretch of 2013, easily tops other singles of the last couple months. With what is arguably the best breakdown of the year halfway through the track, this pointedly wandering collaboration between Sabzi’s production and Kelsey Bulkin’s vocals really does make it seem “like the universe / was singin’ a song.” The track straddles a whole set of dualities — R&B vs. electronic, classical vs. modern pop, West vs. Orient — which to Made In Heights total up to equal the self-bestowed genre “Artisanal Fantasie Trap.” Stream it below, several times, for the rest of the year.
