Modern Tapes – Caroline

Modern Tapes popped up in our inbox earlier this week. The band emailed us and guaranteed that we would like what we heard/saw – they were right. Their song “Caroline” is new wave, post-punk at it’s finest. Recommended for fans of Radio 4, The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart and The Stills, “Caroline” was mixed by Nick Terry (Klaxons/Libertines) and the video was directed by Nir Ben Jacobs, who was also behind The Walkmen’s “On The Water” vid.

From what I can gather, the band recorded their debut EP in a bomb shelter in Tel Aviv. They claim to have used equipment and effects left behind by a past generation to capture their sound.

You can download/stream The Modern Tapes EP here.
