New Noise 004 Preview:
Tiny Victories

Our New Noise events at the Gibson Showroom are all about tiny victories: Small moments of success for up-and-coming artists who are out there contending with and proving themselves to the world; triumphs of which the spoils include an awesome party (complete with open bar) and the distinction of joining the ranks of the other starlets (Reptar, ANR & Body Language, St. Lucia & Savoir Adore) who have graced the Gibson stage over the past year.

So it is fitting that this Thursday, June 12st, one half of New Noise 004 roster will feature Tiny Victories. The duo comprised of Greg Walters and Cason Kelly hails from DC and Athens, GA respectively but in 2010 they met in that Mecca of modern music, Brooklyn and—luckily for us—decided to join forces and make gold records. The band’s debut EP, Those Of Us Still Alive, is an electronic yet organically improvisational compilation that we’ve had on heavy rotation since it dropped in February. Look out for standout tracks like “Mr. Bones” (which we like so much we’ve actually covered it twice) and download the excellent “Lost Weekend” below so that you’ll be not only in the crowd but in the loop this Thursday night.
