Palace Winter is a producer-singer duo from Copenhagen and Melbourne, but they sound like a dusty, psychedelic folk-rock outfit from the middle of America. That description might seem gimmicky, but there is nothing hokey about the twosome and their melancholy single “New Ghost.” Wayward cowboy guitars and subtly flanging synths create a dusky backdrop for Carl Coleman’s vocals. There’s some early Tame Impala influence here, and an ornate, clean guitar solo towards the end reminiscent of Real Estate.
The second single off their recently released Medication EP, “New Ghost” is a testament to the band’s talent and sonic versatility. Listen below.
