Peter Bjorn and John were a staple of 2000s indie pop. And while “Breakin’ Point” may not have the cult following that “Young Folks” does, the new track has some great familiar whistling. The Swedish band delivered in a big way considering they haven’t released new music since 2011. The song critiques excess and being caught up on things and people in a relatable yet nuanced manner: “All the trivialities are out of focus in my mind/ All I really wish is you’d be doing fine.” We’ll be waiting on edge with all the hipster dads to hear the full LP, set to release this June.
