Only a little more than a year after their sold out show at 9:30 Club last August, Glass Animals journeyed back to D.C.’s Echostage on Sunday. In the shadow of three huge cacti and an unusually large disco ball, Dave Bayley and his bandmates shared their signature sound: warm, electronic soundscapes with waves of guitar and bass. The warm feel of the new album was beautifully matched by soft, orange, pink and green lighting. The audience was loving it so much and cheering so loud that Bayley barely spoke three sentences in between songs; “We missed you guys,” he said. Not only did the band play hits off their latest album, How To Be A Human Being (such as “Life Itself” and the encore “Pork Soda”), they also indulged in tracks off their last album (“Love Lockdown,” “Gooey,” “Pools”). Although their set seemed shorter than last year’s, everyone definitely felt the music the whole time. Check out the photos below.
