October kicked off on a high note with British singer and producer James Blake bringing his tour to a sold-out show at the Lincoln Theatre. Blake is coming off of the release his third studio album, The Colour In Anything, and producing songs for Vince Staples’ latest EP, Prima Donna. A multi-piano riser for Blake was on the right hand of the stage, with a drum riser in the center, and a guitar riser on the left. It’s a configuration that took five years of touring to get right, he told the crowd. Towards the end of the show, opener Moses Sumney rejoined Blake on stage to aid in a performance of “Modern Soul.” The headliner then came back out on stage by himself for the encore to perform the song “Measurements” from his self-titled debut album.
