Blocktreat‘s “Button Pusher” is the sum of its parts. Sure, the argument could be made for just about any song, but the thought especially rings true with the Canadian electronic artist’s latest. Here’s what the man né Brandon Hoffman has to say about it…
This song is sort of a meditation. I like smashing together sounds that evoke completely different emotions when heard on their own, to give the impression that some objective version of reality or truth or whatever is really kind of an amalgam of a vast possibility of interpretations. Like something that might drive you insane today might look totally different in tomorrow’s light, so don’t worry about it so much.
You can sense that all in “Button Pusher.” It’s an experimental track that, despite its many moving parts, does have a zen-like effect on the listener. It’s a pleasant surprise from a new artist which, starting today, we’re excited to hear more from. Listen below and stay tuned for Blocktreat’s Exciting New Ventures In Fucking Up LP, out later this year.
