Cub Sport‘s 2015 return continues with brand new track “Only Friend.” The Brisbane four-piece’s latest is a swirling piece of synth-pop with psychedelic tendencies. Speaking on the track, Tim Nelson writes, “We had a few bumps along the road to finishing this record. At the start of the mixing process we had a false start and it felt like no one really understood the sound we were working toward. I felt like I lacked control over something that I’d poured myself into and it left me feeling pretty isolated. That’s what inspired “Only Friend” and what made it the last track I wrote that made the album. It wasn’t written to be a Cub Sport song but we all liked it so much we decided to include it on the upcoming album and make it the title track for the EP.”
Cub Sport’s Only Friend EP hits shelves October 30th via Nettwerk.
