Philly-based alt-rock four-piece June Divided just released an energy-packed new track called “I Didn’t Mind.” Kicking off with a distorted vocal harmony serving as melody, Mel Menago’s folk-rocky voice almost comes as a shock to the system. It all makes sense as the song goes on, though, and the full effort flows effortlessly between quiet and explosive moments. “I Didn’t Mind” is off of an upcoming EP titled Body Wars, their first release since 2012’s Back Bone, out December 2nd. Check it out below.
Here’s what vocalist Mel Menago had to say about the new track/EP:
“I Didn’t Mind” was a song that happened pretty fast- the idea came to me in my car when I was coming home one day and I had the song completed not long after I walked through my front door and sat down at my studio. It was the kind of song you write in a moment, and always have some love for it because of that.”
