It’s hard not to like Royal Teeth.¬†Even if indie pop isn’t your usual cup of tea, the Lousiana outfit’s down-home, anthemic tunes will get your toes tapping. The band is prepping for the release of their Amateurs EP this month, and to get you all excited we’re premiering a brand new track — “Paper Cut” — today. Vocalist Gary Larsen says of the track…

“Paper Cut” has a vibe that’s a little different from our previous releases. We wanted it to sound more “live” so there was more live tracking in the studio. We didn’t separate the vocal takes and sang them in the same room together to help capture the natural feel and emotion of the song. Paper Cut is about embracing the good and the bad of a chaotic relationship. Sometimes we don’t really know what’s good for us but that usually creates a pretty good story to tell.

Give it a spin below and make sure to grab Royal Teeth’s Amateurs EP when it comes out November 18th via Round Hill.
