WAGES
A Boat

Genre: Indie   Sounds Like: Sigur Ros, Deerhunter

WAGES is one of those bands that you didn’t know that you knew. Their brand of ambient indie seems to be the perfect accompaniment to TV shows like The Flash and Gossip Girl. When they’re not soundtracking The CW, they’ve been working on a new album, Glace, out July 29th. “A Boat” is off of that album, and it is filled with quiet eeriness and simultaneous ambient beauty. A song for stargazing. Check it out below and like WAGES on Facebook.

Here’s what vocalist Nick Byron Campbell had to say about the new song:

When you’re in an intense relationship with someone, it can be a shock in moments when you suddenly realize you didn’t truly understand, or misunderstood, something fundamental about them. The key line in the song is “rowed a boat into the yard” – illustrating that exact feeling – despite loving someone, you can at times still end up in a confused/strange place with them.
