Austin electro-pop group Eyelid Kid are releasing their self-produced Hometown album tomorrow, and we’ve got your first stream below. The nine-track release is filled with ethereal tracks that range from hip-hop and R&B to guitar pop. All of it is heavily auto-tuned, making for a futuristic listen. Check it out below.
Here’s what founder Paul Grant had to say about the new album:
“Hometown” is an up-close and personal album inspired by Austin and its natives. I wrote this album over the course of about 2 years and self produced it out of my bedroom. While growing up in a city that was changing so rapidly, it felt important to capture this moment in time. It expresses the emotional highs and lows of a relationship, social media, and the never ending hustle. I’ve always thought of “Hometown” as understanding the dream but questioning reality.
