The boys of High Rule first crossed our radar with their infectiously catchy ode to social media, “FOMO.” Now, childhood friends Seis and Buoy are putting out their first EP, called In Real Life. The EP features seven tracks that cover a variety of topics, but mostly center around navigating the digital world in conjunction with the real one. In Real Life will be available for free download on their website and also for purchase on Bandcamp. Check it out below.
Here’s what the guys had to say about this EP:
In today’s world, the line between the physical and digital continues to blur. The explosion of technology has brought on a lot of good, but there’s no denying that it’s come with its share of drawbacks too. Our desire for instant gratification grows, while our attention spans dwindle. Social media brings us closer than ever before, yet we still feel isolated. And the ability to cut, copy, and paste our image makes it difficult for us to see who, or what, is real. The themes of In Real Life are lighthearted yet cautionary, intended to make you think and dance at the same time. It’s our way of making sense of the world we now live in.
