The Rural Alberta Advantage‘s upcoming album Mended With Gold might be their best and loudest yet. While the beginning of new track “On the Rocks” is reminiscent of the band’s downtempo sophomore album, Departing, the song quickly builds, revealing that the Canadian indie rockers have more bite left in them after all. Drummer Paul Banwatt plays a more prevalent role this time around, exploding into an incredible drum section about halfway through the track. And while keyboardist Amy Cole’s vocals were strangely absent for most of Departing, they are back in full effect here. What we have with “On The Rocks” is a great band firing on all cylinders.
