Just in time for Halloween, The Shins have released a new track accompanied by a playfully spooky music video. Opening with a plastic skeleton rising from frontman James Mercer’s grave, the video for “Dead Alive” is a lo-fi romp through B-movie tropes and optical illusions. Slightly more manic than past offerings, the track still features Mercer’s distinctly singsongy voice. The Shins’ new album—their first since 2012’s Port of Morrow—is slated for a January 2017 release. Check out the video above.
