There’s something about east coast electronica these days that permeates through standard electro-pop. Brooklyn duo The Values are another example. Their latest single, “Separation Anxiety” takes the slow burning charm of the early waves and transcends the generations in between with, quite possibly, cleaner equipment. Though the brooding synths speak to a simpler time in the genre, vocalist Mason Taub projects her influenced soul through an atmosphere of pure, warm groove.
Be sure to catch The Values tonight at The Knitting Factory in Brooklyn. If you’re not in the neighborhood, follow on Spotify and renew your faith in the style.
