New Orleans duo TYSSON just dropped their new video for “Bigger,” off of their upcoming self-titled EP to be released in September. TYSSON’s sound is hard to pin down — there’s some echo of Phil Collins in there, mixed with modern pop, hip-hop and R&B. It’s the kind of music that nods to the past while looking into the future. And it works. Check out the thriller-themed video above.
Here’s what the dudes from TYSSON had to say about the new song and video:
Alvin Ford JR (Drums, Percussion, Vocals): ’Bigger’ is the first song that we ever worked on as TYSSON before we even had a name. That song helped bring us together as artists and showed us that we could really create something unique.
John Michael Rouchell (Vocals, Guitar): I tried to write ‘Bigger’ in the simplest words that I could. I know that people have been through the type of situation that this song portrays, whether it’s the suspecting lover or the paranoid adulterer. I didn’t want to hide the story in fanciful or extravagant language. I wanted it to come across as a conversation or a confession.
