Video Premiere: Colleagues – Parents’ House

Truth told I’m thinkin’ that we were too young
For late night decisions

Colleagues are a Swedish five-piece making sparkling technicolor dream pop that stands out even in a vast sea of Scandanivian talent. We’re beyond excited to premiere the brand new video for their stunning debut single “Parents’ House,” featuring exclusive footage from Roy Andersson’s cult classic teen romance film A Swedish Love Story. “Parents’ House” had us at hello with a cloudburst of ambling keyboard lines, shimmering guitar riffs and infectious sing-along vocals. But the love affair got serious during the mid-song breakdown, a quasi-orchestral torrent of pure feeling evoking vintage M83 that spirals into a freewheeling instrumental outro. By the time the track finally dissolves in a ghostly swirl of filter and phase-shifting effects it’s magic. This song is beyond up our alley – it’s redefining our alley right now. Recommended for fans of St. Lucia, Miami Horror, Cut Copy, Delorean, eighties sound palettes, and sublime romantic pop.

Colleagues’ double A-side Tears / Parents’ House is out April 14th via In Stereo Records. Buy here.
